Western Media has consistently demonstrated anti-Blackness in its reporting. Whether it’s Meghan Markle, Zendaya or Serena Williams, the media and the public must acknowledge and critically focus on issues of representation and racism
To be loved platonically is undemanding and unconditional. These moments shouldn’t be valued less than a bouquet of roses. They mean just as much, and perhaps even more.
I still remember the first time I heard his name back in 2014 when Black Panther was announced. I had finally found representation in the media that I always sought as a person of color. Now, I remember Boseman’s legacy.
