Prior to the Student Interest Group Forum hosted by the Student Government on Feb. 7, Student Government President Farah Shammout announced that the Executive Board is considering restructuring the Student Government in order to promote diversity, inclusion and student participation.
Today, on Feb. 14, the Student Government will announce the Executive Board’s proposal. If this proposal wins a vote of confidence at today’s GA, the Student Government will form a taskforce to work on this issue.
The GA also used the SIG Forum to discuss the possible creation of a SIG Council. Attendees of the forum were asked to discuss membership, leadership and consistency of SIGs in order to come to a better understanding of the needs and the organization of student groups.
