Poetry Column: Heart’s Melody

“To heal is to let go. Snap the threads and play my own song.”

Apr 17, 2025

It pulses
vigorous
and young.
It cries
and it sings.
It throbs
and it drums;
an instrument,
delicate,
mighty.
To hold it
is a dream.
Its strings,
a pulsing melody.
My veins,
my soul,
all connected
in one.
An echo,
of my body
aching for more.
Each pump
is filled with nectar.
Mixing on top,
are drops of
venom.
To heal is to
let go. Snap
the threads and
play my own
song.
