Career Fair Fall 2024

The CDC hosted its Career Fair, featuring 69 companies across diverse industries.

Nov 3, 2024

On Tuesday, the Career Development Center organized its main semesterly event - the Career Fair. Spread across the East and West Forum, the fair attracted 69 companies across several industries, including (but not limited to) education, technology, government, and consulting. Many of the employers were returning participants - Citi, Whitebox HR, PwC Middle East, and AlphaSights to name a few, though it also welcomed a variety of new employers.
To prepare for the event, the CDC organized various events and prepared several resources for students. On Handshake, students had access to the Career Fair Map, outlining which booth belonged to which employer, as well as an official Handshake page with all the employers, most of which had outlined positions and majors they were hiring for. Those who officially signed up for the event on Handshake also got emailed the Cheat Sheet - a Google Sheet which featured all employers, company descriptions, and open positions - for last-minute preparation for the fair. In the same email, the CDC outlined their main Career Fair tips and tricks; polish up your CV, prepare an elevator pitch, and dress formally.
Running up to the Career Fair, the CDC organized a variety of events on how to approach the Fair and get the most out of the event. They encouraged students from every major and year to attend the event, emphasizing how many benefits the Fair has - like gaining professional experience, networking skills, and practicing one’s elevator pitch - even for those who are not actively seeking employment or internships.
