Stern in the Sands: NYUAD’s newly launched graduate program and the future of MENA

With Stern’s legacy expanding to NYU Abu Dhabi, how will it shape the future of MENA?

Sep 15, 2024

When Leonard N. Stern School of Business at New York University announced its partnership with NYU Abu Dhabi to set up a one-year full-time MBA program at the portal campus, the prospects could not have been more promising. Stern is one of the world's most well-renowned business schools. This year, U.S. News ranked Stern as the seventh best graduate school for full-time MBA.
As such, the question arises as to what the impact of such a massive titan in the waters of the MENA region could be. As the only graduate business program by a top US business school in the region, will it expand the dreams of progressive economic diversification and contribute to business development and investment?
With plans such as “Saudi Vision 2030” and “Dubai 2040” looming large, it remains to be seen what role Stern and NYUAD will play in MENA's growing market.
Supported by experiential internships through partnerships with top UAE companies to tackle business challenges, along with a summer course in New York City to understand organizational cultures, the MBA program would surely equip individuals with a robust skillset, enabling them to make an impact in their fields. Drawing upon experience and expertise from the financial district in the west, all over to the capital district in the east, this is an incredible opportunity for those who are willing to take the risk.
As Stern at NYUAD establishes this year with its legacy batch, NYU continues to make strides towards a truly global education, bringing its brand all across the globe with over 13 academic centers worldwide, facilitating access and fostering diverse interactions and connections.
If done right, then somewhere along the line, this has the potential to change the way the system works, thinks, and progresses.
