As the end of the academic 2023-2024 year approaches, so does the Commencement Ceremony of the Class of 2024. The graduation event will be held on May 22, 2024, at the Performance Gym in NYU Abu Dhabi’s Campus Center building.

The preparation for the ceremony, which closes the academic year, started months ago with Student Life organizing many “last” events for the Senior Class. The lead-up to the ceremony was under the title Ma’a Salaama, with activities including the making of a Class of 2024 yearbook.

As part of the ceremony, several speakers will go on stage to address the Class of 2024. Humaid Abdulla Aljailani is the Commencement Welcome Speaker, and Stefan Mitikj was selected as the Student Speaker. Keynote speaker will be Nobel Laureate Ouided Bouchamaoui, who is also to become part of the NYUAD faculty from the next academic year.

The event will also mark Mariett Westermann’s last graduation ceremony as NYUAD’s Vice-Chancellor. She will also share her reflections on her time in Abu Dhabi during the Ceremony. Fabio Piano has already been appointed as the interim Vice-Chancellor and will work in this role until the process of finding and appointing the next Vice-Chancellor is complete.
