On Nov. 6, the UAE National Emergency Crisis and Disaster Management Authority
announced “the lifting of all restrictions and precautionary measures related to #COVID19.” This means that while the green pass will no longer be needed to enter venues and buildings unless required by organizers, the Al Hosn app can still be used to provide vaccination certificates.
Three days after the NCEMA’s announcement, the Ministry of Education has updated guidelines for educational institutions. Here are some latest Covid-19 restrictions
updates for the NYU Abu Dhabi community:
1. End of Al Hosn Checks
Al Hosn status checks are removed at all entry points. Community members should present their NYUAD IDs to Campus Safety Officers. The physical pedestrian barriers will be removed gradually in the coming days.
2. PCR Testing
As presenting a negative PCR testing result is no longer required for accessing campus, the PHD Lab service on campus will be phased out within the next few weeks. However, PCR testing is still available at the Al Manara pharmacy next to NYUAD Art Gallery, with the regular test priced at 40 AED and the rapid test priced at 250 AED.
If a PCR test is required for University purposes, the cost would be covered on a department reimbursement basis.
3. Masks
The mask requirement has been lifted, but community members who choose to wear a mask may continue to do so.
4. Other requirements
Note that those who tested positive for Covid-19 are still required five-day isolation.
