On March 3, the latest Return To Campus memorandum issued by NYU Abu Dhabi’s Office of External Relations outlined some major changes and relaxations of rules with regard to Covid regulations. Here is a summary.
Changes to the Health and Safety Guidelines on Campus
In accordance with the National Emergency Crisis and Disasters Management Authority's recent
announcement and in collaboration with the Ministry of Education:
Masks are no longer required to be worn outdoors, including on campus. However, masks are still necessary indoors. The RTC Committee asks for community members to continue to keep a safe physical distance.
Indoors, masks can only be removed while actively eating or drinking, when working alone in an office or during exercising vigorously.
For international travel and arrival, quarantine is no longer required. The
'green list' standards have been lifted in Abu Dhabi.
The protocols for close or hard contact have been modified. There are no longer any quarantine regulations but contacts have to take a PCR test consecutively for five days instead.
For all vaccinated participants with a negative PCR test within 14 days, all NYUAD events held according to Department of Culture and Tourism rules can now use a standard Al Hosn app green pass. Unvaccinated or unboosted guests with an official exemption must still have a 96-hour negative PCR test in order to attend DCT-regulated events. Anyone who does not have a documented vaccination or booster exemption will not be allowed to attend activities on campus.
Residents and graduate students no longer have a 10-person visitation restriction.
